Industrial Gates for Nursling Industrial Estate
Nursling Industrial Estate sits beside Junction 1 of the M271, less than five minutes from the M27 and the Port of Southampton, and is one of the South Coast's main logistics locations. Our registered office is in Nursling, so this is our home patch. We install and look after industrial gates, barriers and access control for units across the estate. For the wider city, see our Southampton gates page.
Gates for logistics yards and cold stores
The estate is built around distribution. One multi-let part of it alone runs to 379,347 sq ft across 13 units and a secure yard, and there is a cross-docked cold store on a 20-acre site. Yards like these need entrances that cope with HGVs all day. We fit sliding and cantilever gates, which keep the opening clear of tracks in the ground, along with rising arm barriers and bollards to separate lorry and car traffic.
Access control, intercoms and fire links
With several tenants sharing roads and yards, it matters who can get in. We set up fob readers, keypads and intercoms so drivers, staff and visitors each get the right access, and fobs can be cancelled when a contractor leaves. Gates and barriers can be linked to the fire alarm and fitted with drop key switches for emergency services.
Safety, servicing and call-outs
Every installation is fully risk assessed before handover, including force testing. Busy industrial gates should be serviced at least every six months, and we write maintenance contracts tailored to each site. A 24/7 emergency call-out is available if a gate fails shut or open. We're a Gate Safe Aware Installer and are working towards Constructionline Gold.
Gate health checks for estate units
A gate health check costs £199 for the first gate plus £99 for each extra gate, and covers barriers and bollards too. You get force testing and a written report for your site file.
Nursling Industrial Estate FAQs
Can you service industrial gates we didn't install?
Yes. We service and repair sliding and cantilever gates, barriers and bollards whoever installed them, and a gate health check gives you a written report for your site file.
Can the gate open automatically when the fire alarm goes off?
Yes. We can link gates and barriers to your fire alarm panel and fit drop key switches so emergency services can open the entrance.
How often should a busy yard gate be serviced?
At least every six months. Gates on yards with constant HGV and van traffic often need a maintenance contract tailored to the site.
