Gate Maintenance and Service Contracts in Hampshire
Planned maintenance for automated gates, barriers, bollards and access control, so faults are found before they shut your entrance. For businesses, industrial sites, managing agents and homeowners.
Why planned maintenance matters
Automated gates and barriers have motors, moving parts and safety devices that wear with use. Regular servicing helps spot that wear early, keeps the safety devices working, and reduces the chance of a breakdown leaving your entrance stuck open or shut. On business and industrial premises, it's also part of keeping the site safe for staff, visitors and the public.
What a service visit covers
Checking the gate or barrier opens, closes and stops as it should
Checking the automation equipment and controls
Checking moving parts such as hinges, wheels, tracks and gear racks
Checking safety devices such as photocells
Force testing, which measures how hard the gate pushes when it meets an obstruction, to make sure it's within safe limits
Checking keypads, intercoms, GSM units and other access control
Checking general condition and pointing out any wear or faults
Telling you about any repairs or replacement parts we recommend before we carry them out
After every visit you get paperwork confirming the service was carried out, and a written report. The report lists any defects or parts that need bringing up to the legal standard, and any worn parts likely to need replacing soon, so you can budget ahead instead of facing repairs all at once.
How often should gates be serviced?
Most automated gates should be serviced at least every six months. Gates and barriers that are used often, especially at business and industrial sites, wear faster, so it's important to keep to a regular schedule.
There are no standard packages. Each maintenance contract is tailored and quoted for each site, covering gates, barriers, bollards or a mix, with visits every six months or once a year. We'll recommend a schedule once we've seen your equipment and how it's used.
Who our maintenance contracts are for
Businesses with automated gates or barriers at their premises
Industrial sites with heavily used gates
Managing agents and landlords looking after residential blocks or shared entrances
Homeowners who want their gates serviced regularly
Gates installed by someone else
We maintain and repair gates, gate motors, barriers, bollards and access control installed by other companies. On the first visit we'll inspect the system and tell you what condition it's in before agreeing a maintenance schedule.
If you'd like to know where you stand first, our safety systems and gate health check costs £199 for one gate, plus £99 for each additional gate checked on the same visit. Book a gate health check.
If your gate has stopped working
Call 07890 387915. Our normal hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:30pm. Out-of-hours emergency call-outs are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Extra charges apply outside normal hours.
There's a fixed call-out charge, with separate fixed charges for emergency and out-of-hours call-outs. The repair itself can only be quoted once an engineer has assessed it on site.
Our engineers carry a selection of common parts. On an emergency call-out, if the repair can't be finished straight away, we can at least open a gate that's stuck shut so you can get in and out, or close one that's stuck open so your property is secure, until we return with the parts.
Ask about a maintenance contract
Tell us what equipment you have, where it is and how often it's used, and we'll recommend a maintenance schedule.
