Barriers and Bollards in Southampton and Hampshire

Control which vehicles can enter your car park, yard or private road. Automated Openings supplies barriers and bollards for businesses, industrial sites and private properties across Hampshire.

Barriers

A barrier is a quick, practical way to control vehicles at a car park or site entrance. It can be linked to access control so authorised drivers get in without stopping for long, while everyone else is kept out.

  • Car park entrances and exits

  • Site and yard entrances

  • Private and shared roads

Bollards

Bollards stop vehicles going where they shouldn't: protecting buildings, pedestrian areas, parking spaces and entrances.

Linking barriers to access control

Barriers can be operated by keypads, fobs, remote controls, intercoms or GSM systems, so you decide who gets in and when. If you already have automated gates, we can help you choose controls that work across the site.

Maintenance and repairs

Barriers in daily use need regular checks. We maintain and repair car park barriers, vehicle barriers and bollards, including ones supplied by other companies, and we can include them in a maintenance contract alongside your gates.

Maintenance contracts

Supply and installation

We supply and install barriers and bollards to suit the entrance, the number of vehicles and how often they pass. At the survey we look at the width of the road, the ground, where the power can come from and how drivers approach, so the barrier or bollard is in the right place and works with the way the site is used.

Car parks

At a car park entrance or exit, an automatic barrier keeps out vehicles that shouldn't be there and lets permitted drivers in without fuss. It can be set to open from a keypad, fob, remote control, intercom or GSM, and paired with a second barrier for a separate exit lane.

Industrial sites and yards

On industrial sites, yards and depots, barriers control traffic at the entrance, separate visitor and staff parking, and work alongside commercial and industrial gates that secure the site out of hours. Bollards protect buildings, loading areas, walkways and equipment from vehicles, and keep access routes clear.

Servicing and safety

Barriers and automatic bollards are powered machines that move where people and vehicles are, so they need looking after. They should be serviced at least every six months, and more often on busy sites. We can include them in a maintenance contract alongside your gates, and we repair barriers when something goes wrong.

If you want to know whether an existing barrier or bollard is working safely, our gate health check covers barriers and bollards too. It costs £199 for one barrier or bollard, plus £99 for each additional one checked on the same visit, and you get paperwork and a written report afterwards.

Tell us about your site

Let us know where the vehicles come in, how many use the entrance and who needs access, and we'll recommend suitable barriers or bollards.
